Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is my MMIC recognized in other California Counties?
A: Yes. This is a statewide identification Card Program.
Q: How long will a MMIC be valid?
A: Qualified patient and primary caregiver cards are valid for one year. If the primary caregiver applies for a card at a later date than the patient’s MMIC, the primary caregiver (MMIC) will have the same expiration date as the patient’s MMIC.
Q: What is a Medical Marijuana Identification Card (MMIC) and how can it help me?
A: The MMIC identifies the cardholder as a person protected under the provisions of Prop 215 and SB 420. It is used to help law enforcement identify the cardholder as being able to legally possess certain amounts of medical marijuana under specific conditions.
Q: How much medicinal marijuana can I have in my possession?
A: For information on possession limits please visit the Health and Safety Code Section 11362.77 or contact your local law enforcement authority.
